On Thursday, C&K Market announced that its Ray’s Food Place in Drain will close in late February.
A company release said the decision was made only after careful consideration and reflects the difficult realities facing many local grocers.
Company officials said for decades the store on North First Street has been an important part of the Drain community. It has been a place where neighbors connect, families shop together, and team members greet customers by name. the release said C&K Market is grateful for the trust, loyalty and friendship the community has shown over the years.
C&K Market President Rocky Campbell said, “This was not an easy decision”. Campbell said, “The Drain community welcomed us into their daily lives, and we are sincerely thankful for the strong relationship built along the way”.
All team members will be offered positions at other Ray’s Food Place locations, and the company is committed to supporting them through this transition. C&K Market Director of Advertising Dan Gustafson said there are 11 employees currently at the Drain store.
Customers may continue shopping at other Ray’s Food Place locations, where they will find the same products and services they rely on. Gift cards and loyalty rewards will continue to be honored at all Ray’s Food Place stores.
