HIGH WIND WARNING IN EFFECT FOR MOUNTAIN AREAS

A High Wind Warning remains in effect through 1:00 p.m. Wednesday for mountain areas in parts of southern Oregon.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Medford said southeast winds of 35 to 50 miles per hour with gusts up to 75 miles per hour are expected. 1 to 4 inches of snow is expected above 5,000 feet.

The Advisory area includes the southern Oregon Cascades and Siskiyou Mountains. It applies to Crater Lake National Park, Diamond Lake, and the passes of highways 140, 138, 62, 66, and 58.

Forecasters said high winds may move loose debris, damage property and cause power outages. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Additional wind and snow hazards are possible Wednesday night into Christmas Day.

Residents are urged to secure loose objects that could be blown around or damaged by the wind. Watch for falling debris and tree limbs, Use caution if driving.
