STRONG HIGH PRESSURE LEADING TO HIGHS TEN TO FIFTEEN DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL

December 10, 2025 6:00 a.m.

Dry conditions and afternoon high temperatures well above the seasonal norms are expected to continue in the Umpqua Valley for the next several days.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Medford told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that strong high pressure off the coast of California is keeping conditions ten to fifteen degrees above normal. The pattern should remain through at least Sunday. Forecasters said on Monday, a front will move in, leading to gradually cooling high temperatures and the potential for rain.

Roseburg’s high temperature Wednesday is forecast to be 63 degrees. That is fifteen degrees above the normal high for the date of 48 degrees. It is also only a few degrees shy of the record high for the date, which is 66 degrees, set on December 10th in 2014.

While the main phone number at the National Weather Service in Medford remains automated, and provides only limited recorded information, KQEN has been provided with a special media line number, resuming the ability to speak directly with forecasters and get more detailed information for our local news coverage.
