CHI Mercy Health has announced that they have added another robot to the Surgical Services options.
Mercy recently received a Davinci XI robot, which is now in service with two other robots on campus – another Davinci XI and a Mako.
A release said robotic surgery at Mercy is transforming patient care across a wide range of procedures including:
*General Surgery: Hernia repairs, gallbladder removals, and other complex abdominal procedures
*Gynecologic Surgery: Hysterectomies, ovarian cystectomies, and other intricate gynecologic interventions
*Urology Surgery: Including a variety of procedures
The release said the integration of this third robot translates directly into tangible benefits for patients including:
*Improved Service Timeframe and Accessibility: With an additional robot, more surgical appointments can be offered, reducing wait time for scheduled procedures, and ensuring timely access to crucial care.
*Superior Patient Outcomes and Faster Recovery: Smaller incisions leads to less scarring and a more aesthetic result. There is also reduced blood loss, less postoperative pain, shorter hospital stays, and quicker and more complete healing.
Surgeon Dr. Alex Spencer said, “My patient outcomes and my ability to provide a high level of patient care are enhanced by the addition of this second XI to our surgical suite”.
The release said CHI Mercy Health continually strives to innovate and provide the highest standard of medical care. This latest robotic addition is a testament to that mission, offering patients access to world-class surgical expertise here in Douglas County.
