Contractors with the Oregon Department of Transportation have begun removing hazard trees from state right of way along Highway 38 between Dean Creek and Scottsburg.

Dan Latham of ODOT said these are trees that are dead or visibly dying. Latham said work is scheduled each Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Traffic in the area will be controlled by flaggers. Motorists are asked to watch for workers and equipment in the work zone. Latham said the project is scheduled for completion by the end of November.
