The Oregon State University Extension Forestry and Natural Resources program is holding a workshop titled, “Forest to front door: a wreath-making workshop”, on Thursday, December 11th.
An extension release said the workshop will be held at the Douglas Timber Operators pavilion at the Douglas County Fairgrounds from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Attendees will learn to identify, harvest, and use native forest materials to make beautiful wreaths. At this workshop, participants will design and construct their own wreath to take home with them, just in time for the holidays.
Some greenery will be provided, but people are encouraged to forage in their yard and property for any clippings. Anything from fir to classic holly, to the sword fern variety makes wreaths interesting and fun.
Wreath bases, floral wire, decorative ribbon, and clippers will be provided, but attendees are welcome to bring their own clippers or special decoration.
The class costs $20 per person. To register or learn more, go to: https://beav.es/xse of contact Alicia Christensen at 672-4461.
