Deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office jailed a Klamath Falls area transient on 36 charges on Saturday morning.
A DCSO report said at 6:00 a.m. officers with the Winston Police Department located a stolen vehicle at a business in the 4400 block of Old Highway 99 in Green. A Crescent area transient was detained out of the passenger seat. A firearm was located on the floorboard just behind his seat.
Multiple credit cards and receipts were reportedly located in the driver’s pocket. He was identified as 31-year-old Tylor McMahon. The stolen vehicle was registered to a Roseburg address but was stolen in Klamath County. The cards were all stolen from the La Pine area. A deputy located a video from Crescent showing McMahon using the stolen credit cards. He admitted attempting to use the other credit cards at an ATM in Gilcrest. He was a convicted felon. Both suspect’s stories reportedly showed considerable knowledge that the vehicle was likely stolen.
McMahon was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, possession of a stolen vehicle, being a felon in possession of a firearm, ten counts each of identity theft, fraudulent use of a credit card and computer crime, and warrants. He was detained without bail.
The 39-year-old passenger was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and possession of a stolen vehicle. He was detained without bail and was released on Sunday.
