Roseburg Police jailed a woman following an alleged menacing incident on Sunday.

An RPD report said just after 9:00 a.m. officers responded to the 2000 block of Northwest Stewart Park Drive after a victim called 911 and claimed the suspect had tried to threaten him with a knife, which he was able to take from her. Officers arrived on the scene and contacted the suspect, the victim and another individual who had witnessed the incident.

The suspect denied ever brandishing the knife or threatening the victim with it but admitted that she did have the knife. The victim told officers that the suspect said she was going to stab him if he did not leave the park, then pulled out a knife and came towards the victim with it while holding it up in the air.

The victim claimed he had to back up and the suspect then slammed the knife down into a wooden table near the area where the victim had been standing. The victim told officers that he feared for his life and believed the woman was going to stab him with the knife. He still had possession of the knife which was a large hunting/survival knife with an eight-inch blade. Officers seized the knife.

Another individual on the scene witnessed the incident and spoke to officers, corroborating the victim’s account of the events that had happened. The woman was taken into custody without incident. She was charged with menacing and unlawful use of a weapon. The woman detained without bail.
