Crews with the Umpqua National Forest are responding to new fire starts on the Diamond Lake District.
A UNF release said a widespread lightning storm moved through the forest on Tuesday and Wednesday, with multiple strikes confirmed on the forest.
Fires include:
*Windigo 2 – 1 acre fire, near Windigo Butte. Missoula Smokejumpers are on site
*Bear Trap – Single tree near National Forest Service Road 3757, 100 percent contained
*Buckneck Fire – .92-acre fire located on the northeast side of Buckneck
*Garwood Fire – 0.10-acre fire located a mile from National Forest Service Road 3703, spur 200. Called out
Smoke reports can be made to the Roseburg Interagency Communications Center at 957-3325.
The UNF has moved to Moderate Fire Danger with no Public Use Restrictions. Industrial Fire Precaution Level remains at Level 1. Fireworks are prohibited on national forest lands
