Due to elevated wildfire risk in parts of its service area, Pacific Power is taking additional safety precautions.
The utility has turned on enhanced safety settings and protective devices that will automatically de-energize power lines when debris, wildfire or strong winds contact the lines. Customers should expect more frequent and longer duration outages while these settings are in place.
According to Pacific Power, these measures will prevent wildfires from starting so customers’ patience is appreciated. To be prepared customers should:
*Plan ahead and be prepared year-round
*Create a plan with medical providers for appropriate backup power
*Review contact information and sign up for alerts
*Sign up for outage alerts by texting OUT to 722797
