City of Roseburg buildings will be closed this Friday, July 4th, in observance of the Independence Day Holiday.
A city release said that means that City Hall, the Roseburg Public Safety Center, Roseburg Public Library and other city buildings will not be open to the public. The library will also be closed on Saturday, July 5th.
City parks remain open from dawn to dusk. Quintus Parks, on West Susan Street, has a StoryWalk, which can be viewed from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily through Saturday.
Most parks, including Beulah, Eastwood, Parrot Creek, Quintus, Stewart and Sunshine, have playgrounds. The Riverfront Disc Golf Course and Roseburg Skate Park near the duck pond will be open. Free concrete games including ping pong and cornhole are available at Eagles Park downtown, but players must bring their own equipment.
Free “Yoga in the Park” starts at 10:00 a.m. Saturday east of the band shell in Stewart Park. Stewart Park Golf Course will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Stewart Park’s outdoor tennis and pickleball courts are closed for renovation. The Umpqua Valley Tennis Center will not be open on Friday.
Police and firefighters will continue to provide public safety throughout the holiday.
