Roseburg Police cited two people on littering and camping charges on Wednesday.

An RPD report said at 11:20 p.m. officers contacted the 49-year-old woman and 19-year- old man at the Gaddis Park bike jumps in the 800 block of Northwest Highland Street. The woman’s camp was posted for a cleanup date of Wednesday, last week. When officers arrived, the woman had her camp contents spread all over the grass area to the west of the bike jumps, which was only about 50 feet from the river’s edge. Mixed in with the camp items were pieces of trash. There was a small hatchet laying out on the grass, which is prohibited on city property.

The man’s camp was just across the path from where the woman had created a mess. Both areas are where camps are not allowed.

The woman was cited for depositing trash within 100 yards of a waterway, for having prohibited weapons, tools and other implements on city property. The man was cited for prohibited camping. Both people were released.
