Elkton Community Education Center will have its 18th annual Blooms & Butterflies Festival this Saturday.
ECEC Co-Executive Director Deborah Gritton said it is a key fundraising event that supports the non-profit organization’s programs and initiatives. Gritton said with a backdrop of summer blooms, the celebration brings the community together for a full day of nature-inspired fun, learning and connection. Attendees can browse unique handmade creations from local artisans, enjoy live entertainment and savor delicious treats while supporting a great cause.
Highlights include:
*5K Butterfly Fun and quarter mile Dragonfly Loop. Registration is $30
*Artists, vendors and information booths with unique crafts, artwork and details about local initiatives
*Butterfly crafts and live music throughout the day
*Costume contest, race awards and barbecue fundraiser
*Fort Umpqua Tours, market gardens and butterfly pavilion.
*Outpost Café, gift shop and plant nursery
The event runs from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Gritton said, “It’s a fantastic day for families, nature lovers, and anyone looking for a fun and engaging experience”.
