Crews with the Douglas Forest Protective Association are working on two fires in the Kent Creek drainage, southwest of Dillard.
DFPA Acting Public Information Officer Nic Freeman said Thursday at 6:30 a.m. DFPA responded to the fires, each of which were found to be roughly a half-acre in size. Freeman said operational engagement will continue until both fires are controlled. DFPA is working closely with landowners to assist in fire suppression activities.
Both fires are under investigation.
Freeman said DFPA is in command of both fires and will be working diligently to suppress these fires and make sure the fires are 100 percent lined and mopped up. DFPA has fire engines, a landowner tender, and is working closely with the Bureau of Land Management to assist with these fires.
