Sutherlin Drug, a long-standing cornerstone in downtown Sutherlin, has announced that it has been awarded the Oregon Main Street Revitalization Grant for 2025. The grant, in the amount of $250,000, will be used to support the revitalization and modernization of the company’s historic storefront. A release from Sutherlin Downtown Development said the goal is to enhance the overall vibrancy of the Sutherlin business district and to promote community growth.
The OMSRG is a competitive funding initiative provided by the Oregon Main Street Program, designed to support the revitalization of historic commercial districts, boost local economies, and encourage the preservation of Oregon’s heritage buildings. The grant will play a key role in upgrading Sutherlin Drug’s facilities.
Sutherlin Drug owner Laura Tripp said, “We are incredibly honored to receive this grant”. Tripp said, “This funding will allow us to continue our legacy of serving the Sutherlin community while contributing to the revitalization of the downtown area. We are excited about the possibilities this grant opens up, not only for our business, but for the entire Sutherlin community”. Tripp said, “It’s an investment in both the future of Sutherlin Drug and the future of Sutherlin itself”.
Sutherlin Downtown Development Inc. Chairman Dan Bartram said, “We believe this revitalization effort will have a lasting impact on the heart of Sutherlin”.
