HOTTEST DAY OF THE YEAR IN ROSEBURG, 4TH DAY IN A ROW

It was the hottest day of the year in Roseburg for the 4th day in a row on Monday.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Medford told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that the mercury reached 101 degrees at the Roseburg Regional Airport. The hot streak ramped up Friday when Roseburg hit 91 degrees, followed by high temperatures of 97 degrees on Saturday and 100 degrees on Sunday.

It’s never been hotter on June 9th in Roseburg than it was on Monday when the high shattered the previous record temperature of 94 degrees, set on that date in 2015.

Forecasters said high temperatures will drop around 10 degrees on Tuesday, with a high of near 90 expected. That is several degrees below the record for June 10th, which is 95 degrees, set back in 1940.

Starting Wednesday, afternoon highs closer to seasonal norms are forecast for several days, with the mercury expected to remain in the mid to upper 70s.
