ROSEBURG POLICE CITE MAN FOLLOWING TWO CRASHES WITHIN A HOUR

Roseburg Police cited a man following two crashes within an hour on Wednesday afternoon.

An RPD report said at 3:30 p.m. officers responded to the wreck at the intersection of Northeast Diamond Lake Boulevard and Northeast Winchester Street.

Officers learned that a 78-year-old was in a sedan when his vehicle rear-ended a second sedan. The collision caused the second vehicle to be pushed into the back of a pickup.

No injuries were reported. The man who caused the crash was cited for following two closely. An information exchange between the drivers was completed.

At approximately 4:25 p.m. the same 78-year-old man was headed southbound in the 700 block of Southeast Rose Street, when for unknown reasons, his sedan drove into the back of a parked vehicle. The man mentioned seeing demons, and his vital signs were poor. The driver reluctantly agreed to go to CHI Mercy Medical Center. The vehicle that was hit was able to be driven from the scene. An information exchange was completed. The driver was cited for failure to drive within a lane.
