Local firefighters will be collecting funds for the Fill the Boot program of the Muscular Dystrophy Association on Friday.
The campaign is part of an effort from the International Association of Fire Fighters that began in 1954. Money collected will help fund research, care and advocacy to empower people living with neuromuscular disease to achieve their potential.
Fire fighters from the Roseburg Fire Department and Central Douglas Fire and Rescue will hit the street in downtown Roseburg with boots in hand asking pedestrians, motorists, customers, and other passersby to donate to MDA from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The effort will take place at the intersection of Southeast Washington Avenue and Southeast Stephens Street.
Online donations to MDA in support of the local campaign can be made at: https://filltheboot.donordrive.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=donorDrive.event&eventID=553
