Roseburg city fees for drinking water, storm drainage service and other services will increase on Tuesday, July 1st to reflect increased costs to provide those services.
A city release said the Roseburg City Council recently approved a yearly update to general fees and water-related fees and established a new $100 appeal fee for decisions made by the Roseburg Public Library director or staff. Annual fee adjustments are typically made in May.
Notable fee increases will raise the charge to reconnect water service from $20 to $40 and to rent library meeting rooms for everyone but veteran organizations, Douglas Education Service District or Friends of the Roseburg Public Library.
Library rentals will increase from $25 to $50 per use for the Deer Creek, South Umpqua and Ford Family rooms when the library or Douglas ESD is open to the public. Renting the Ford Family Room when the library and ESD are closed will increase from $75 to $150 per use. Renting multipurpose rooms #1 or #2 remains $25. A study room can be used for two hours at no charge on a drop-in basis.
The release said while many fees stayed the same, certain fees will increase 1.85 percent to 2.2 percent based on the March Construction Cost Index or CPI-U West index to reflect the increased costs to provide those services.
