Douglas C.A.R.E.S. will host their annual Heroes Day in recognition of April’s Child Abuse Prevention Month.
A release said Douglas C.A.R.E.S. has been providing a safe space for children in Douglas County enduring abuse and neglect to share their stories for 30 years.
April is Child Abuse Prevention Month, and the non-profit would like to take the opportunity to show children that there are heroes in this community who are dedicated to preventing child abuse and providing resources to families affected by it.
Douglas C.A.R.E.S recently moved into a brand-new building with tons of room for big, indoor activities. The new location at 1939 Northeast Diamond Lake Boulevard provides a safe dry place for fun in April.
The Heroes Day event will be held on Friday, April 4th from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. It will include dinner, games and prizes, family activities and giveaways.
