Roseburg’s dog park is closed after suffering severe damage from flooding by the South Umpqua River on Sunday.

A city release said the Happy Trail’s Dog Park at Templin Beach Park on Southeast Templin Street will be closed at least temporarily. The fencing around the park was completely destroyed and the flood left water and debris in the park, according to Roseburg Parks and Recreation Program Manager Val Ligon.

Ligon said, “The dog park at Templin Beach was destroyed by flooding”.

Public Works crews are working throughout the community to assess damage from Sunday’s storms and determine priorities. Parks staff will consider options for reopening the dog park at a time yet to be determined.
