Roseburg Police cited a man and arrested two juveniles for a reported store burglary early Saturday.
An RPD report said just before 3:30 a.m. officers responded to the business in the 2000 block of Northeast Stephens Street for a commercial burglary alarm. Upon arrival, officers observed the front door of the business had shattered and there was a large amount of blood inside and outside the store. Officers cleared the building and did not locate the suspects at that time.
Business owners arrived on the scene and showed security camera footage of the incident to the officers. It showed three individuals as they approached the front of the business. One of them and a man identified later as 18-year-old Sean Carter, allegedly smashed in the front glass door, with Carter cutting his arm as he punched through the glass. After cutting his arm, Carter reportedly ran from the store.
The two juveniles then entered the business and surveillance footage showed them loading up bags with stolen merchandise before leaving. Officers were able to follow a blood trail from the scene across the street to a mobile home park. At the entrance to the park, officers found several items that appeared to have been stolen from the business.
Around that time, dispatch relayed that someone at the mobile home park reported having a cut to their arm that was caused by glass. Officers contacted Carter and the juveniles at the mobile home park. All three were wearing the same clothing as the individuals captured in the security camera footage.
Carter was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center, where it was determined his injury warranted being transported out of town to a trauma center. Officers located stolen merchandise on both juveniles.
The juveniles, one from Roseburg and the other from Eugene, were lodged at the Juvenile Detention Center. Due to his injuries, Carter was cited and released at Mercy.
