A Glide man was charged with first-degree theft by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday.
A DCSO report said on March 15th a victim contacted deputies and said that he had hired the suspect to some yard work and the man had asked for a $2,000 deposit for materials. The victim said he gave the man a check, but it was cashed, and the suspect never showed up to do the work.
The victim had messages with the man who allegedly admitted to cashing the check and spending the money to pay his bills. The victim told the deputy that the suspect is no longer responding to him.
A deputy contacted the suspect on Wednesday, and he was taken into custody for first-degree theft of services. The man was released on Friday.
