Deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office jailed a Riddle man for driving under the influence of intoxicants on Tuesday morning.
A DCSO report said just before 9:20 a.m. an injury accident was reported in the 1000 block of Pruner Road in Riddle. The accident involved the man’s pickup and a street sweeper. A deputy arrived and found the 33-year-old driver to be intoxicated. The man reportedly refused to do any standard field sobriety tests. He was arrested and transported to corrections.
The driver allegedly also refused to take a breath test. The deputy wrote a search warrant for breath and blood, and it was signed by a judge. The man then provided a breath sample. His blood alcohol level was .20 four hours after being detained.
The driver was also charged with reckless driving. He was detained without bail.
