The Umpqua Valley had slightly cooler weather on Sunday but is expected to warm up a tad on Monday.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service said the mercury reached 73 degrees at the Roseburg Regional Airport. That was down four degrees from Saturday’s 77 degree high, which was the warmest day of the year so far. Roseburg’s record high for March 17th was 78 degrees, set in 1947.
Roseburg is expected to reach 76 degrees Monday. The record for March 18th is 79 degrees, set in 1939. The region will have one more day in the 70s on Tuesday before cooling to the 60s on Wednesday. Starting Friday, highs are generally slated to be in the 50s for the rest of the month with a chance of rain each day.
