A man from Drain was jailed by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office after allegedly resisting arrest early Thursday.
A report from DCSO released on Monday said at 1:10 a.m. a deputy observed the 36- year-old allegedly walking in the middle of the road in the 200 block of John Long Road at Rice Hill. The deputy knew the man was on probation and his conditions were not to use or possess drugs.
When the deputy contacted the suspect, he reportedly stated that he was running from aliens and needed to get to the Flying J Travel Center. The man was moving his body in a fast motion, was talking fast and the deputy was having a hard time hearing what the man was saying. The deputy asked the man when he last used drugs. He reportedly stated it was a few hours ago and he had a little methamphetamine in his possession.
The deputy called the suspect’s parole officer and informed him of the situation. The parole officer asked that the man be detained for a parole violation. When the deputy informed the suspect that he was under arrest, he allegedly said “no”. The deputy took control of his arm and turned him in the opposite direction. The man started pushing back and moving his hands, allegedly not letting the deputy control them. After a short struggle, the suspect was taken into custody.
The man was charged with resisting arrest and for the parole violation. He was detained without bail.
