The Umpqua Valley Christian School baseball team is holding a First Pitch Dinner Saturday night.

Their team of high school seniors has been playing together since they were 3 and 4 years old, navigating through travel teams and all-star competitions. They were state runner-up’s as sophomores and made it to the state semi-finals last year.

The team is fundraising so they can compete on a national stage at a prestigious tournament in Arizona during spring break. Teams from around a dozen states will be taking part in the Coach Bob Pride Classic.

The event takes place at the Danny Lang Event Center at Umpqua Community College, beginning at 6:00 p.m. The evening will include special presentations, guest speakers and a number of items that will be auctioned off. Tickets are $100.
