In the KQEN Cultural Spotlight:

The Umpqua Valley Youth Orchestra is holding final registration for the 2026-2027 season.

A release from UVYO said the students aged 6 and older with no prior experience to advanced ability can apply.

UVYO provides instructions on violin, viola, cello and string bass. They also have instruments available for a low monthly rental fee and some scholarships are available.

The release said UVYO students perform concerts in winter and spring at Umpqua Community College as well as other smaller community performances.

Registration fees are $130.00 for the year or $320 for a family of 3 or more.  All classes will begin on Thursday September 17th.
