FREE PLANT CLINIC IN ROSEBURG TO EXPAND HOURS

January 29, 2024 3:00 a.m.

Beginning in February, the Oregon State University Master Gardener Plant Clinic will be open Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Master Gardener Cheryl Caplan said the Plant Clinic is a free service to the public where master gardeners work to solve gardening questions from the public. Caplan said the clinic is located at the OSU Extension Office on Southeast Douglas Avenue, just east of the courthouse.

Those who can’t make it in person, can call 541-236-3052 during the same hours to get assistance over the phone. Questions can also be emailed to: douglasmg@oregonstate.edu.

Caplan said another helpful resource is the Discovery Garden on River Forks Park Road, next to River Forks Park. The garden is open to the public daily from dawn to dusk and features different sustainable gardening techniques. There is no admission charge for visiting the garden.

OSU Master Gardeners Douglas County is a volunteer organization in collaboration with the OSU Extension Service. The program is designed to educate Oregonians about the art and science of growing and caring for plants.
