A Roseburg man was jailed after allegedly trying to get into vehicles in Winchester early Wednesday morning.
A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 3:45 a.m. a resident received a notification on their ring camera and saw a suspect allegedly trying to get into his vehicles in the 100 block of Cypress Court. The resident confronted the man who was reportedly in a nearby driveway trying to get into another vehicle. The resident held the man at gunpoint until a deputy arrived and took him into custody. A second victim discovered his vehicle had been entered and there were items missing.
36-year old Jacob Ellis was charged with unlawful entry into a motor vehicle, two counts of attempted unlawful entry into a motor vehicle, second-degree criminal trespass and third-degree theft. Ellis was held without bail.
