PACIFIC POWER PREPARED TO RESPOND TO WEATHER-RELATED OUTAGES

January 8, 2024 9:30 a.m.

Pacific Power is monitoring a winter storm approaching the Pacific Northwest region in Oregon, California and Washington.

A release from the utility said the forecast indicates strong winds could result in system interruptions, causing power outages through early Wednesday morning.

Pacific Power is encouraging customers to be prepared for outages and supports state and local emergency management organizations, recommending Oregonians have an emergency plan for up to 72 hours without services.

Residents should update their contact information so the utility can reach them. Customers can sign up to receive alerts by text, email or phone. Residents should also restock their outage kit, and keep mobile devices charged so they can be used in an emergency.

In case of an outage, it can be reported by texting OUT to 722797. An outage status can be checked by texting STAT.
