Roseburg Police jailed a man on a felony strangulation charge on Friday.

An RPD report said at 4:30 p.m. officers contacted a 49-year old after he was involved in an altercation with a juvenile victim in the 2100 block of Northeast Vine Street. During the incident, the man reportedly chocked the victim and threw him on the ground, causing additional injuries.

The man was taken into custody without incident. He was also charged with fourth-degree assault. Bail was set at $5,000. The man was released on Tuesday.
