An Air Stagnation Advisory remains in place through 12:00 p.m. Friday for most of southern Oregon.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service said stagnant air is expected to lead to deteriorating air quality.
The Advisory area includes the valleys of Douglas, Josephine, Jackson, Klamath, and Lake counties. Air stagnation will especially be seen in and near areas with significant sources of air pollution. Diminished air quality is likely to cause health issues for people with respiratory problems if precautions are not taken.
According to state air quality agencies, prolonged periods of stagnant air can hold pollutants close to the ground where people live and breathe. Check with local burn agencies for any current restrictions.
