Aviva Health is hosting its annual Vets and Their Pets Veteran’s Day celebration this Thursday, November 5th from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

It will be held at the Aviva building at 150 Northeast Kenneth Ford Drive in north Roseburg.

An Aviva release said the event honors U.S. Armed Forces veterans with a complimentary lunch prepared by Aviva Health staff. Festivities will begin with the raising of the American flag and Aviva Health staff members will sing the national anthem. Free massages and haircuts will be available, with other vendors on-site to share helpful information and resources.

Veterans are invited to bring their pets for complimentary services, like vaccines and microchips provided by Saving Grace Humane Society and basic grooming services from Sutherlin Pets & Grooming. For the safety of all attendees and their animals, pets must always remain on a leash or carrier throughout the event.

Dr. Jay Richards, interim CEO and chief medical officer at Aviva Health said, “Vets and Their Pets is more than just an event; it’s an opportunity to honor and thank the men and women who have selflessly served our country.” Dr. Richards said, “Through this annual event, we’ve had the privilege of honoring more than 1,000 local veterans over the years. It’s a small gesture of appreciation and a meaningful reminder that their service, sacrifice, and dedication will never go unnoticed here in Douglas County.”
