In the KQEN Business Spotlight:

It appears that Grocery Outlet is headed to Sutherlin.

On Tuesday, Sutherlin Mayor Michelle Sumner said she had just learned that a piece of property was sold last year and then approved for a Grocery Outlet. Sumner said groundbreaking for the store started on Tuesday

City Recorder Beau Hart said building permits are housed with the Douglas County Building Department but found one on the department’s website that looks like it is for the new business, to be located on Clover Leaf Loop, off West Central Avenue.

Grocery Outlet’s corporate website and multiple recruiter websites show that GO is looking to hire an Independent Operator/Store Manager in Sutherlin.

The city of over 8,500 people has had only one full-size grocery store for a number of years. A Shop Smart store is located on the east side of the community, on East Central Avenue.

News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN has reached out to a company spokesperson, seeking more information about Grocery Outlet coming to Sutherlin.
