FIRE CREWS DEAL WITH FIRE ON RICHARDSON ROAD IN MYRTLE CREEK

October 9, 2026 4:00 a.m. 

Crews with the Douglas Forest Protective Association, Central Douglas Fire & Rescue and Myrtle Creek Fire Department dealt with a grass fire in the Myrtle Creek area on Thursday afternoon.

A DFPA post said just before 1:50 p.m. firefighters were dispatched to the fire near the 2000 block of Richardson Road. Upon arrival, crews found an estimated 1.5-acre fire with moderate fire spread. DFPA resources included 3 engines and overhead command staff. By 2:25 p.m. the forward spread of the fire was knocked down and crews transitioned to mop-up.

The fire was human caused with details still under investigation. No homes or structures were threatened by the fire.
