After two days with afternoon high temperatures pushing near 90 degrees, the Umpqua Valley will see gradually cooling weather beginning Thursday.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Medford told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that the mercury reached 88 degrees at the Roseburg Regional Airport on both Wednesday and Tuesday. Low pressure moving into the region is expected to lead to highs in the mid 80’s Thursday, low 80’s on Friday, with the weekend highs between the upper 70s and 80 degrees.

Forecasters said another low-pressure system is slated to enter the Umpqua Valley next week, keeping temperatures cooler than normal for this time of year.
