Roseburg Police added charges on a jailed man due to a new case on Monday.

An ARP report said after an investigation, officers developed 26-year-old Jacob Arps as a suspect in a case involving a sedan being stolen in the early morning hours on Sunday from a motel in the 300 block of West Harvard Avenue. The stolen vehicle was witnessed to be spray painted to cover the entirety of the vehicle shortly after it was stolen.

Arps was already in custody for being stopped as the driver of a different stolen vehicle on Monday night. Charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and first-degree criminal mischief were added. Bail is set at $2,000. The location of the stolen vehicle remains unknown.
