A man from Drain that had been missing for a few days was contacted at his residence on Thursday and is confirmed to be safe.

An update from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said 52-year-old Jeffrey Alan Hawks is no longer considered missing.

On Wednesday DCSO asked for the public’s assistance in locating Hawks, who had been reported missing on Tuesday evening. He had been seen last Sunday at approximately 7:00 a.m. when he departed from Murphy Plywood on Prairie Road in Eugene. Hawks had not contacted family or friends and had missed several days of work. His cell phone was powered off or was out of service range.

The DCSO update said no further information is expected to be released at this time.
