The Castle Fire remains at 3,613 acres and 75 percent contained as of midday Tuesday.

The lightning-caused fire is burning 23 miles northeast of Tiller with 477 personnel assigned to the incident.

An update from F.D.N.Y Incident Management Team said a cooling trend has begun with temperatures dropping below 85 degrees and slowly falling over the next week.

Wind during the day will calm overnight. Humidity is also expected to begin to rise. Fuels remain hot and dry.

The expanded Umpqua National Forest closure area remains in place. All National Forest System lands, roads and trails are closed to the public within the closure area. This includes about a dozen recreation areas.
