Roseburg Police jailed a man Wednesday night for a warrant and for providing alcohol to a person under the age of 21.

An RPD report said just after 10:45 p.m. officers contacted the 34-year-old at a motel in the 700 block of Northwest Garden Valley Boulevard after a caller said there was a disturbance.  During the investigation, officers found that the suspect had provided an 11-year-old with alcohol and was neither a parent nor a guardian of the child.

The man was allegedly visibly impaired from alcohol and was on probation with one of his stipulations as having no alcohol. A detainer was authorized. Dispatch advised and confirmed that the man had a warrant for failure to appear on a previous criminal charge. He was taken into custody without incident. Bail was set at $15,000.
