Deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office jailed a man for improper use of 911 on Wednesday.
A DCSO report said at 1:50 pm. employees of a business in the 800 block of John Long Road in Rice Hill said the man was agitated and was refusing to leave the store. They asked that the 27-year-old from Sacramento, California, be trespassed. When a deputy arrived, the man asked him if he was going to jail, and said he wanted to “meet God”.
His demeanor and statements suggested that he was under the influence of a substance. The suspect was semi-truck driver with an 80,000-pound vehicle. As the deputy ran the man through dispatch, he pulled out his cell phone and called 911 to say he was “Ready to go in”.
The man was taken into custody and transported to corrections. He was detained without bail and was released on Thursday.
