Firefighters are responding to multiple smoke reports across the Umpqua National Forest following thunderstorms on Wednesday afternoon and evening.

A UNF post said two fires have been confirmed so far. Both fires are being managed for full suppression. Resources engaged include engines, crews, dozers, rappelers and aircraft with additional resources enroute.

Forest Service crews continue to look for fires with boots on the ground and aerial detection. Residents are asked to report any new fire starts to the Roseburg Interagency Communications Center at 957-3325.
