Oregon State Police jailed a Roseburg man on kidnapping and weapons charges following an incident on Friday.
An OSP report said the agency had received information of a possible domestic violence incident at a residence on Highway 42 near milepost 76 in the Winston area. Troopers responded to the last known address for the suspect and victim and began formulating a plan with deputies from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office. It was determined that a victim was being held against her will inside the residence and the male was unlawfully possessing firearms.
Eventually phone contact was made with the suspect, 42-year-old Brandon Love. Over the course of several hours, negotiations were made and the male eventually exited the resident where he was taken into custody without incident with assistance from DCSO’S Tactical Response Team. Love was charged with first-degree kidnapping, being a felon in possession of a firearm, menacing, unlawful possession/concealment of firearms, recklessly endangering another person and reckless driving. Love was detained without bail.
