Roseburg Police jailed a man for an alleged assault incident on Tuesday night.

An RPD report said at 10:30 p.m. officers responded to Deer Creek Park in the 200 block of Southeast Pine Street regarding the incident. A victim had reportedly been punched in the face by the 42-year-old suspect. The victim was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center by ambulance. The suspect had left the scene but was later located and taken into custody. He was charged with fourth-degree assault. Bail was set at $6,250.
