MOSTLY HIGH PRESSURE THIS WEEK IN UMPQUA VALLEY

Its mostly high pressure impacting the weather in the Umpqua Valley this week.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Medford told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that a southerly flow of air is in the area with afternoon highs expected to be at or slightly above seasonal norms except for Thursday, when the high is slated to drop to the low 80s.

Forecasters said there is the potential for some thunderstorms and lightning in eastern Douglas County Tuesday afternoon and evening.

Conditions will warm up for a few days starting Sunday, with highs in the low to mid 90s forecast.

The mercury reached 93 degrees on Monday at the Roseburg Regional Airport.
