ABOVE NORMAL HIGHS EXPECTED FOR NEXT WEEK

Summer sunshine continues with afternoon high temperatures several degrees above normal expected in the Umpqua Valley for much of next week.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Medford told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that the weather situation is expected to stay pretty quiet for the near future. A trough is offshore with a high-pressure system to the east. Friday through Sunday highs should drop to the low to mid 80s, with highs at or near 90 degrees from Monday through at least next Thursday.

The mercury reached 90 degrees at Roseburg Regional Airport on Thursday.
