Roseburg Police jailed a man for a reported theft incident on Sunday afternoon.

An RPD report said just after 4:00 p.m. officers responded to a business in the 900 block of West Harvard Avenue regarding the theft of $7 worth of chewing tobacco. Officers later identified the 51-year-old as the suspect, and he was taken into custody without incident. During the arrest, officers allegedly found the man in possession of suspected methamphetamine. He was charged with third-degree theft and was cited for the drugs. Bail was set at $2,500.
