Roseburg Police jailed a man for a reported menacing incident on Monday night.

An RPD report said at 7:15 p.m. officers responded to the Stewart Park pavilion in the 2000 block of Northwest Stewart Parkway after a caller said there was a disturbance involving a male who had brandished a knife. The investigation determined that 76-year-old Esmond Graham had approached two people who were sitting at a park bench and began arguing with them.

During the confrontation, Graham allegedly pulled out a knife, opened the blade and pointed it at the individuals, causing them to fear they would be stabbed. Graham was found to be in possession of several knives. He was taken into custody without incident and charged with two counts each of menacing and unlawful use of a weapon. Graham was detained without bail.
