Three people were transported to the hospital following a crash in the Callahan mountains early Friday morning.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at approximately 8:20 a.m. emergency responders went to the wreck near the intersection of Longs Ranch Road and Callahan Road. The passengers crawled out of the pickup, which had gone down an embankment. All three, ages 19 to 22, admitted to consuming alcohol. They were all transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center. Two of them provided blood alcohol levels that were just over twice the legal limit for driving, while the third was just over the limit. None of the individuals could remember who was driving.

The 19-year-old and the 20-year-old were cited for being minors in possession of alcohol.
